About The Owner

Honestly, I'm just a regular mom who does regular things with her kids who was just regularly tired of feeling uncomfortable in her swimsuits, so I said, "I'm so done with what's considered regular, I need something different."

After having 3 kids in 3 years, all before I had even turned 27, my priorities had definitely shifted- especially with what I wanted in a swimsuit! I needed something cute that also could withstand baby hands pulling on me, chasing after busy toddlers, and my hectic mama life where I never seemed to have enough time or energy. I knew other women had similar feelings as I did, and yet no one was doing anything about it- and I couldn't help but get so frustrated.

I've always had a passion for fashionable and functional clothing that works for my life - something I realized was actually very, very attainable after working for a handful of years at Lululemon. So when I couldn't find what I was looking for in a swimsuit, I designed it myself, and a few years later, here we are!

I love thrifting and refashioning clothes (when I can find some sort of spare time). I have more of a vintage style which is why I'm always wearing those headscarves and, if I were ever a contestant on Project Runway, I'd design only modest pieces. I started dancing at age 3 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career when I was 19! I miss the beach every single day (but I definitely don't miss the traffic). My husband is a chef - which is where the idea of Basil and other spices came from - and we've been married since 2013 and, after owning and operating a food truck for the past 4 years, he's finally opening a full-service restaurant this summer!
